RMR sealing plate is required only for RMR, and not for RMR HD, SRO and RCR.
OPF-G6, RMR is a Glock Gen 6 ORS compatible plate for RMR, RMR HD, SRO and RCR. Note that OPF-G6, RMR isn't made for, nor is it guaranteed to work with other RMR footprint sights not manufactured by Trijcon. To us, the term footprint includes all dimensions and tolerances, not just the lug hole sizes and space between each other, many sight manufacturers take a rather loose interpretation. Trijicon holds impressive tolerances on its sights, other RMR footprint sights may not. Our RMR plates are made for, and guaranteed to fit Trijicon RMR, RMR HD, SRO and RCR only.
OPF-G6, RMR is compatible with Primary Arms HTX-1 (use the adapter plate in the blue bag that came with HTX-1).
An often asked question thus far is whether OPF-G6, RMR will fill the gap in front and back of the RMR on Gen 6 ORS slides. OPF-G6, RMR will fill the gap in front and rear gap. The 2020 to 2024 Gen 5 MOS RMR plates we made did use the front fence and it's functional, the latest 2024 and forward RMR footprint revision code 84 no longer uses the front fence to keep the sight immobile but has retained it for cosmetics. The rear fence on our Glock RMR plates is cosmetic and serves no real function, but both will be present on OPF-G6, RMR.
OPF-G6, RMR will require a sealing plate for RMR, we believe this is a logical and practical choice.
We had both the full width support version (requires no sealing plate) and the one we chose to be the production OPF-G6, RMR prototypes (without full width support) made. The full width support version is 0.07" thicker.
To us, it doesn't make sense to impose the 0.070" height penalty on RMR HD, RCR and SRO users that neither need nor benefit from having a full width support made just for the RMR. RMR users retain the lowered install height Gen 6 ORS provides by using a sealing plate. RMR HD, RCR, and SRO don't need a sealing plate, while all the sights sit lower by not having a full width support.
Gen 6 ORS pocket has a spindle shaped cavity/depression designed to prevent the plates from rotating, shifting longitudinally and laterally. There is also a small, 45 degrees rear locking tab to keep the rear of the plate down. All OPF-G6 plates have a bottom contoured to conform and fill the spindle cavity, they also have a small pocket in the rear to make use and engage the ORS's rear locking tab. When installing OPF-G6 plates, the rear of the plate must be inserted into the rear ORS pocket at an angle, the front of the plate then can be rotated down into the pocket, the same way factory polymer inserts are installed. Glock Gen 6 ORS provides a means to secure the plate in the ORS slide, OPF-G6 plates take full advantage of the tools Glock provides.
